I had read it the first time when it first came out, which was long enough ago to make it new experience this time.

What a wonderful weaving of tales over time into touching and transcendent whole. An ode to books and life. Was thinking about its many themes and motifs and wanted peoples thoughts on the most striking to them.

For me it was the connectivity of people and history.

I had a hard time with this book. I don’t know, but I couldn’t get into it and wasn’t sure what was going on much of the time.

Some parts I found very engaging, then it would switch to another story and I’d lose interest. Wish it had captivated me more.

I enjoyed it a lot! I think Goodreads recommended it because I liked Cloud Atlas and I found the books very similar, although cloud Cuckoo Land was certainly easier to read. I was especially touched by the >!redemption of the boy who tried to bomb the library!<
