So for Christmas I’m considering getting “The Glass Hotel” and "Sea of Tranquility” for my mom, since “Station Eleven” is her all-time favorite book and TV show and I’ve heard these two have a similar vibe. Do you think she’d enjoy them? Which book do you think is more similar to Station Eleven? And which one did you enjoy more?
I liked both books but preferred Glass Hotel. Sea of Tranquility is good but Glass Hotel feels more complete for back of a better term.
I would say Tranquility is closer to Station Eleven thematically. One of the main characters in Tranquility is a stand in for Mandel and her experience after writing Station Eleven.
