There’s probably a better way to word my title but I don’t want to spoil anyone that’s still in season 1.
At the beginning of the episode it’s interesting listening to Omniman try and persuade Mark into joining the viltrum empire. Especially now knowing that there are many timelines where Mark joins his dad.
Mark doesn’t really get a chance to talk during his dads persuasion talk, he just takes it all in. But the moment that makes him lash out is when Omniman says Debbie is more like a pet to him.
I wonder what those conversations were like in the universes where mark and Omniman team up. Like mark hearing that his mom was a pet and not lashing out.
Do they go into that in the comics? It’s really interesting to think about how Omniman could persuade him. I mean, in our universe I think Omniman definitely made a mistake about calling her a pet, or saying anything that would cause mark to be outraged. I wonder what the turning points were in other universes. Like if in most other universes Mark hears him say that and is like “yeah I can see how she’s a pet” and joins his dad.
As far as I recall, no.
He just teams up with his dad.
He probably didn’t mention his mom being “like a pet” because that’s what set Mark off.
He probably said something like “We can make the world better, but there’s a lot of people who don’t want that” since that’s what Mark was saying to the Resistance in episode 2.
Yeah I picked up on that when we see the timeline where he teams up with his dad. He was saying a lot of the stuff Omniman tried convincing him of in the season 1 finale
Really interesting to think about all the different possibilities. Like ones where Omniman beat mark into submission, ones where mark immediately joined him, or whatever the case
