I’m with her on this. My family is hardcore Hindus and practice Hinduism to the T. But this never happened in my home growing up. It was weird to see this tbh lol. Sprinkling cow pee over food? Umm sorry it’s not about religion at this point it’s about HYGIENE.

I was wondering if this was a custom many Hindu’s practiced. I’ve never heard of it before but that doesn’t mean anything. Would you consider them very traditional or just a little unhinged?

Cannot speak for 1.1 billion people but from what I know is cow urine is used in ayurveda medicine. That is the version I know and was told growing up. Never seen anyone sprinkle urine everywhere. That is just weird. But again there are 1.1 billion people and I think everyone has their own version of practicing Hinduism at this point.

my mom grew up in rural India and when I showed her the clip she said it wasn’t uncommon for her Hindu neighbors to do that. Cow urine is even ingested in some cases because it is believed to have medicinal properties.
