She thinks she’s Jim from The Office. She knew there was a camera out that window when she made that face. She’s an actor after all

I am really surprised she didn’t just stop the burning cow poop and cow urine fumigation immediately….but by golly, next time she will stop it immediately. The hygiene issues were unappetizing. And the brother-in-law was crumbling the poop with his hands—-no one was washing their hands afterward. And reusing the table rag on the wok. Yuck.

When the flakes of shit on the table will entirely visible when they set it down and that’s why the lying mom wiped it off with the rag- then lied and said there was nothing on the table. Then why’d you wipe it? The family has severe communication/deception issues, which is probably why the father doesn’t have much to do with them- he’s probably sane and prefers honesty.

I normally can’t stand her attitude, but my OCD was triggered, especially when his mom used the same rag to wipe down the wok 😳

And she was given a lecture after the wedding ceremony on how only true family members are allowed in their pure kitchen and how clean food preparation has to be….and come to find out this is what was going on in the downstairs kitchen!! This is their idea of pure, clean and sanitary?

No, they said it has to be “pure” in the spiritual sense. Until she was a member of the family she couldn’t enter the kitchen.

She BLINDLY agreed to move in, IMO. She was not aware of all of her responsibilities and clearly TJ did not properly explain to her how the customs and culture works for his family.

I think we can all agree, because he himself had said as much, that she does not know what her responsibilities are so he clearly did not relay anything else to her. He can’t even properly translate what his mother is saying to her.

She was aware of the role of women in Indian households, and directly spoke with TJ about it prior to them getting married. He lied to her. He smilingly admitted he did so in a talking head, as though it was a cute joke to deceive her. And, he admitted he kept things from her “probably for a good reason” again in the cow dung episode. Don’t watch with Kim-hating blinders only, and then attempt to be a TJ and try to deceive fellow viewers who saw he lied/lies and admitted it (because he views himself superior and her needs silly).

You’re contradicting yourself by saying she knew what to expect, but also saying TJ lied so I am confused.

Don’t forget the urine! I couldn’t stop thinking about how strong the house had to smell at that point. There was a lot going on at once 😂

I’m with her on this. My family is hardcore Hindus and practice Hinduism to the T. But this never happened in my home growing up. It was weird to see this tbh lol. Sprinkling cow pee over food? Umm sorry it’s not about religion at this point it’s about HYGIENE.

I was wondering if this was a custom many Hindu’s practiced. I’ve never heard of it before but that doesn’t mean anything. Would you consider them very traditional or just a little unhinged?

my mom grew up in rural India and when I showed her the clip she said it wasn’t uncommon for her Hindu neighbors to do that. Cow urine is even ingested in some cases because it is believed to have medicinal properties.

Cannot speak for 1.1 billion people but from what I know is cow urine is used in ayurveda medicine. That is the version I know and was told growing up. Never seen anyone sprinkle urine everywhere. That is just weird. But again there are 1.1 billion people and I think everyone has their own version of practicing Hinduism at this point.

          Then complain about that.

She only seems to care about the culture.

We don’t see her really call out TJ on it.

She shits broadly on what they’re doing. Then says, oh but I love his culture and what it means.

          While acting disgusted.

I think it was disgusting too. But sometimes you put on a happy face and fight with your spouse behind closed doors.

Hey Kim–you’re not in Kansas anymore. Your choice.

I’m sure if they came here, they would find some things repulsive, too.
