So what exactly is the meaning of it? As in, what do the Viltrumite rulers do once a planet has been conquered? What could they really want from Earth and humans on day to day basis?
Is it just an ego thing? The need to know that Earth is now under their rule, even though they don’t actually do anything with it? Just wanting their colored spot on the galactic map being a little larger than before?
I mean if all that would entail for us would be that each morning we have to mumble our pledge of alliance to the Viltrumite Empire and our glorious emperor whatshisface and then just go on about out our own business and in return they give us clean energy, cures for cancer and such and clean up the already done environmental damage and undo climate change (just because due to their ego no planet within their empire should be such a sh++hole as Earth), why resist?
They would drain our planet’s resources for themselves and use us as slave labor. Also if the guy who lived here for 20 years with a loving family said we were animals and murdered hundreds of us, imagine how much worse the Viltrumites would be that just showed up. Not getting cancer isn’t worth living as cattle.
