Finished this book last week and it’s still tugging on my heart strings. Has anyone else read it? I loved it. Found out there was a movie made and didn’t care for it. Someone talk to me about it. ❤️ Much. But will watch again just in case it grows on me. Now I do expect some responses to have spoilers in them. I will tag as a fore warning.

This book was on my radar for a while, but when I saw the movie was going to be released I finally moved it to the top of my TBR pile. I read it about a month before the movie release.

I really enjoyed it, I’ve seen many posts and comments by people who didn’t think the ending was good, I personally think it was perfect and I can’t imagine it any other way. She learned her ethics from nature not man and did what she needed to do.

As far as the real life drama surrounding the author, I didn’t learn about it until I had already read the book, and it didn’t impact my opinion of the story in any way. I actively avoid learning about celebrities so I can separate the art from the person, it makes it a lot easier. I believe horrible people can create amazing things and I don’t want to prejudge the finished product because of the words or actions of an author, actor, artist, or screen writer. My choices would be extremely limited if I only consumed media by people I’ve researched and deemed ethical.
