I watch the Daily Show in the morning along with the other nightly shows.

FOR FUCKS SAKE STOP YELLING. You have a god damn mic.

She sounds like Tracy Jordan doing an exaggerated impression of a woman Tracy Jordan.

Please bring back Sarah Silverman. Also re: Genie, I’m not defending Trump at all, but in what world is the common nomenclature “lamp.” It’s “bottle.” Saying box IS stupid but it’s the same first letter as bottle

I agree. Loud is her brand, and she can make it work, in some settings but it doesn’t work for me as Daily Show host.

Yeah, it’s the reason I don’t love her. She’s alright overall but her delivery is too loud. I can’t watch a whole episode like that.

Being loud and outrageous is not the same thing as being funny.

You’re right the about the setting. The Daily Show is a thinking person’s comedy show. Not a slap your knee, “look at that chicken head” show. Hosting it requires restrained, calm, cool smarmy energy.

Leslie Jones is 100% wrong for the format. The producers brought her back as virtue signaling for the millennials. And this is not about race. I would feel the same if Dane Cook guest hosted.

The ‘Loud, Angry Black Woman” schtick is really not for me. She could work as a correspondent, like Lewis Black, but she’s annoying in large doses. I had the same issue with Hasan.

I like the wry, deadpan delivery better. It seems to work well for humor during the opening monologue and plays well off the correspondents. So far my favorites have been Roy, Wanda Sykes, Klepper, and Chelsea Handler. I’d be happy with Kosta, DL Hughley, Kal Penn, or Al Franken.

Klepper is the natural spiritual successor. He’s the only one with skills to debate people well.

Interestingly, the way people here don’t love Leslie for her voice/delivery, i don’t like Michele’s nasaly whine voice. I feel bad cause i don’t think she can control that, but i am being honest.

uhhh, ya think? That’s been her whole brand since SNL. Loud, obnoxious, and not funny.

Yeah. I agree. Her schtick works on snl for certain bits but for daily show? No.

Did you ever happen to see her hosting Supermarket Sweep? When I first went out on disability I was home and couldn’t do much so I caught a few episodes. She was unbearable.

I mean, it’s hard not to see this as racism. I’m gonna hope that it isn’t your intent, but saying Black women are “too loud” is poking at a trend that’s, even if you don’t mean it that way, incredibly racist.

I love Leslie Jones and think she is an American treasure. But treasure doesn’t belong at the bar- which is what the daily show has basically become recently- or maybe always was.

She’s awful, always has been awful, will always be awful. Not once has she made me laugh.
