Seriously how the fuck do the writers even come up with this shit? Its brilliant.

I really cannot tell what the show was trying to say or to which type of person does a character resonate more to, because its so complex. But here’s what I make out of it…

I am a young male adult and I can still relate to Diane. I never went through a breakup or a divorce, but I can still relate to Diane. In fact, I’ve never been in a relationship, and I can still relate to Diane.

Its not about the breakup part or divorce part, but its about being alone, and wanting to get away from things, or running away from problems. THAT. That part really resonated with me. I thought no one could understand the situation I’m currently in but, god fucking damn…

(Please no spoilers I’m watching the show for the first time)

I think this episode is great and fairly underrated. It’s structurally complex, has a great framing device with the Girl Croosh article, and of course is funny while still conveying Diane’s not-so-happy feelings.
