First off - I have a lot of respect for people who speak multiple languages. My husband is first generation polish and that is so hard to learn!

People have said that Danielle’s Spanish isn’t that great. Those who are fluent Spanish speakers, how are Ashley’s skills?

As a fellow Spanish learner who is pretty good now, Ashley seems quite confident where Daniele will resort to Spanglish quite quickly. With a bit more in-country experience I think Ashley would be quite good as it’s mostly her directly translating English phrases and using overly simple Spanish that betrays her skills.

As an aside Ashley has a big advantage with Ecuadorian spanish being a lot more hospitable to an English ear than Dominican Spanish, which tends to end words not fully pronounced.
