I thought came across really likeable and understanding this episode, particularly with how she spoke to Mary about her worries and concerns.
I was expecting different to be honest, but it was quite a heartwarming moment between the two of them.

It was a heart warming scene and the mom gave great advice.
But I was REALLY puzzled by it. First, the mom comes into town with guns blazing. Will barely even look at Mary and doesn’t hide her scorn.
And then in this episode, she’s loving and compassionate towards her.
Was one the “mean” or “nice” scenes TLC frauding? Perhaps both, lol. Or did something happen in the days between those scenes that softened the mom towards Mary?
The 180 in the mom’s attitude didn’t make any sense.
Remember up until that point the mom’s experience of Mary has been rude, controlling, and she had forbidden Brandan from visiting his mom and sister. So, the mom didn’t have a good impression of Mary and neither would I. Despite that experience she still tried to warm up to her. Maybe because she has a grandchild on the way, and is seeing fragile Mary is she put any issues she had with her aside.
