I thought came across really likeable and understanding this episode, particularly with how she spoke to Mary about her worries and concerns.

I was expecting different to be honest, but it was quite a heartwarming moment between the two of them.

And yet if she was really worried about them and cared, she wouldn’t have sold the pictures of their wedding and made them lose the TLC contract.

Do we know that’s even what happened? Is this just what Statler said or has more come out about it?

She has a long way to go in her recovery. I think this could be good for Mary and good for her. Worried about the relapse and the anger that comes with it, paired with Mary’s trauma.

I agree. She has done a lot of work to heal herself and it shows. I had a very similar upbringing to Brandon but once my mom got sober she never really addressed the past hurt. She just kind of wanted to slide back into my life after I was a grown adult. I think it’s really nice that Brandon is willing to forgive her and that his mom is making an effort to have a good relationship with him and Mary.

I too was surprised she was level headed and kind to Mary. Everything she told them makes sense but like all young people you think you know more than your parents and make many mistakes that could have been avoided had you listened. The biggest mistake those two made was not using protection. They’re not capable of caring for a child.

From Mary’s perspective, she was actively trying to get pregnant. Not using protection results in the same outcome, of course, but I can’t believe her ignorance in making the decision to TRY to get pregnant in their circumstances.🤦‍♀️

Let’s not absolve Brandon in that decision, He also stated that he wanted a baby .They are both dumbasses but people in this sub try their hardest to absolve Brandon from his dumbassery…

There’s been many people who have tried to blame everything on Brandan. I would hope that everyone thinks they’re both naive, dumb, clueless, and don’t think anything through.

I found it rather when Mary said she’d never had anyone give her advice before. Her grandparents must be all business. Maybe she’d be on a better path if she had a few good mentors/advisors along the way.

That was the shock of the season for me. And he turned out to be kind of a jerk!

Her behavior now doesn’t erase her past but it does show that she’s grown and gotten help, which is great.

It’s funny to see the 180 done on his mom when people thought she was an AH for calling out their relationship as problematic. You know, despite that we can all see the red flags in M&B’s relationship.

I’ve liked his mom from the start. She had every right to express her frustration when Mary told Brandan she didn’t want him visiting women in his family. Only to find out later Mary was unplugging her internet and hanging with guy friends. His mom was reasonable from the beginning, and now since Mary isn’t acting like a possessive a-hole she has an opportunity to connect with her.

Yeah true. I think despite the red flags, the way she expressed her thoughts before didn’t seem as compassionate towards Mary and seemed more blaming of her vs Brandon. This time, I think she seems more measured in seeing that they both have their own faults while giving advice in an understanding way. Maybe she was just given a bad edit before I don’t know… you can never tell with this show

I’m sorry but I’m in the minority on this. There is nothing that his mother can do at this point to redeem the years of misery she inflicted on Brandan. I don’t care if she’s clean now. She is the last person on earth to dispense advice to anyone. I wanted to leap through my television and confront her during that scene. The sooner her self-righteous mouthy butt gets back on the plane, the better. She didn’t deserve to be paid to appear on the show after the massive psychological trauma her kids went through.

I think a producer got a hold of her and let her know how poorly she was coming across.

I get people being critical of her, but I find her genuine and trying to make up for the lack of parenting she did. I wish her the best and strength in her sobriety.

Agreed. Based on what we saw, it also looks like she has taken accountability and learned a lot about healthy relationships and boundaries in therapy. I wish her the best.

I legit feel she has done some deep recovery work. She has said some things that are very good about sobriety. I’m glad she’s using the platform to talk about getting clean
