It is a really good summary of her background, and links to how she acts and what drives her.
Her parents, first generation immigrant, only daughter of 5, etc etc…
Explains a great deal of her outlook on life, but also where she can be particularly drawn to and caring for those that may not earn her care.
And then she makes changes in her life, including getting divorced, changing jobs, taking medication, therapy, moving cities, cutting out toxic people, etc etc…
If she was male, 100% she would be regarded as a positive protagonist / example to live up to.
For those in doubt, please read the Wiki articleon her.

Your idea of a protagonist seems very 2023 Gen Z.
Leaving behind all the people you were shitty to, taking medication and changing jobs does not a protagonist make.
Who was she shitty to?
I’m not Gen Z btw.
