Feel free to spoil me, cause I am genuinely curious, my context is only the tv show.

In Season 1, Immortal dies twice. He gets beheaded by Omniman, then sliced in half the second time.

He appears in Season 2 right as rain again. But what was interesting is in the alternate universe, Mark just smashes his head into nothing. He says “try to come back from that” but that’s where my question actually lies: Can he ACTUALLY come back from that?

This could be just a decision being made for convenience sake, but Omniman would obviously know all about Immortal’s powers and what he can come back from. He made the very clear decision to not crush his head, or even destroy his body. So either he genuinely didn’t know and thought killing him like any other human is enough, or he made a strategic reason to not do so. If it’s the latter, and he knows something that you guys and gals know…then what is it?

How can Immortal possibly come back if his head and/or body is completely gone?

Regarding why Omni-Man doesn’t destroy his head, it could be that he didn’t know about it when he first killed him. But maybe he figured it out the second time but still didn’t do it because deep down he may have wanted for someone to be able to fight against him later on or stand by Earth when the Viltrumites come (since, so far, Immortal is the strongest character on Earth right now). These are my thoughts at least.

then sliced in half the second time

I actually don’t know if that did kill him, but it’s possible that he was still alive considering his superhuman durability.

Can he ACTUALLY come back from that?

Unlikely. There is a point in the comics where >!Immortal himself requests that his body parts remain separated so there is no chance he will resurrect so that he can finally have “eternal peace.” This suggests that he will remain dead unless his head is reattached.!<

Omniman would obviously know all about Immortal’s powers and what he can come back from.

I mean, not necessarily. Immortal has been around for thousands of years while Nolan has only been on Earth for a little over two decades. Nolan was surprised when Immortal was resurrected for the first time.

And even Mark himself tells the time travellers to keep Immortals head separate because ‘thay jrpw he works’
