I have too much time and decided to write an analysis of Sarper from a Turkish perspective in case it’s of interest 😂

First of all, I’m from Istanbul. Sarper’s family seem middle to upper middle class to me. His career choices (stripper, fitness instructor etc.) would not be considered a success by his family so he probably feels that he has somewhat failed in life.

On the other hand, most women that he interacts with in his daily life (colleagues?) are probably of a poorer background. He would not consider them to be “good enough” for him and his family. Similarly, he would not be considered “good enough” for women who come from a similar socioeconomic background to himself due to his career.

That really only leaves him the option of marrying a foreigner and trying to build a life abroad. Shekinah is his way of saving face.

He definitely would be a family let down with his career choice, not being more established and having a family as an only male child. There’s probably extra pressure to procreate now that he’s dating what appears to be a respectable woman. If the Turkish culture is like other culture, there’s pride and considered a step up to date an American foreigner (with money). Sarper throwing tantrums shows his insecurities and limited relationship experience. Those outbursts are not okay. Shekinah should put him on timeout.

He thought she could be persuaded to have a child with him.

They’re done. It’s always about having a child with these 90-day couples.

She’s not handling this in a mature manner either!

“He needs to choose to have a child, or choose to be with me!”

Why, Shekinah? You’re no prize package either, and you already fulfilled being a mother.

Choose a man with grown children, so you can travel together.

It is Karma though with him, like he said.
