We have Filipino customer service reps for our small business. It’s a great plan for them, if they can make it work. For their children’s sake, they need to use some of that TLC money to buy a computer.
What “TLC money”? They weren’t getting paid much to begin with by Sharp Entertainment, not the network itself, just a small amount per episode. If Statler’s story is true, they were fired from the show because Brandan’s cousin and mother posted spoilers about the pregnancy and wedding that broke the Non-Disclosure Agreement.
The problem I have with Mary’s plea is that I don’t believe a laptop is suitable for working from home. Those call centers would demand a PC equipped with specific software and a dedicated phone line in addition to a quiet workspace at home. You can’t have customers hearing a crying baby or pets in the background.
I hope they find a way out of their problem because the public is fickle and is likely to move on from them as soon as the new season is cast.
Not all businesses need phone support, our support is all done through email/tickets. We have a husband/wife team who have been able to buy a new home, send their children to school, and get medical care for their special needs child. They just had a 4th baby. My husband is the one who knows how it all works, but all they need is a laptop, internet access, and an account with UpWork.
