and I’m about to wrap up a few days of rewatching Ted Lasso/loudly sobbing into my cat. Please give me some recommendations for other comforting shows I can watch to help me get through being sad and being alone. Thanks.

Ted Lasso - and a strong recommendation for Letterkenny and Shoresy. All three shows are on repeat for me when I am having a tough time.

    Sending all the healing hugs.

I loved that show. My dad had a brain tumor that robbed him of his personality. I did a lot of cathartic crying during that show.

I’m so sorry. 🤍 Sending hugs and good vibes. I wept that whole show, too, but because it was well-written and had so much heart. I’m happy it helped you get your feelings out.

Ted Lasso helped me to work through a lot of my issues with losing my mom, namely Mom City. 😭

You’ve got your cat… you aren’t alone! (I miss my guy, with his murder mittens with such cute toe beans)

If you have Max, or a VPN that lets you watch British TV channels - Channel 4 has a show that is similar to the Great British Bake Off, the Great Pottery Throwdown.

The people are so lovely and passionate about clay! They support each other so much too. First 5 seasons are on Max. I got tired of waiting for the 6th season, and got a VPN (and figured out a London zip code) and just streamed it.

I am a hobbyist potter, so I’m slightly biased, but I got others who aren’t hooked on the show.

On Netflix is Great British Baking Show/Bake Off, and Derry Girls.

This one could go either way so other commenters can advise but I found After Life very positive. There are lots of shows that are cheery and that’s maybe what you need, but After Life deals with loss in a very uplifting and thoughtful way IMO. Be careful though because there are some sad elements to it.

And then there’s the rewatch podcast “The Psychologists are in”. Maggie Lawson and Timothy Olmundson host it, and my God the wholesomeness rating to off the charts. Psych always felt like a warm and fun show, but hearing about all of the behind the scenes stories and how the cast and crew are still family to this day, it makes so much sense. Definitely recommend as well!!
