He could never understand what she sacrificed and lost for her powers, and asks her to stop using them. When helping people is the one thing that might bring her some peace.

Also, who just verbally insults their kid all day everyday anytime. It’s like he lives to insult Eve for no reason. I feel as if Eve endured it for so long, was because it’s so small to her and her understanding of the world.

I don’t say parents, because her adopted mom is a victim too. Dealing with her own issues and subject to her husbands personal abuse as well. She could leave, but it could take the voice of some one else or even professionals to realize that.

This back story is such great writing and insight to a major character.

He’s such an asshole, like he doesn’t even try to support her helping people around the world, dude would rather struggle working at Burger Mart rather than accept his daughter’s help, like how stubborn and dense can one person be?

he ain’t really wrong for the burger mart gig. in S1 Debbie is like “im not just omnimans wife, im a realtor too I just need my own accomplishments and activities” and people clapped. eves dad is doing the sane thing, he doesn’t just want a magic handout, he wants to earn things, and i don’t think he’s wrong for that

Sure, but Debbie didn’t say “we can only do things if they come from my income”. Nolan still helped out with stuff (flying her across the world for example). I feel like Eve and her dad could at least reach a compromise where she could help out with like… fixing stuff around the house that hypothetically if your unpowered kid had the skills to do they’d do it for you for free.
