nah seriously, idk anymore with this couple. they keep asking their followers for “donations” for monkey funds, laptop money so she can work, etc. etc. and telling everyone that they are financially struggling yet they can buy a PS5, an iPhone 15 PM, and even get a braces that she doesn’t need! 🙄

their priorities are really all over the place. poor kid will grow up on parents who doesn’t know how to invest for her future.

Unfortunately this is common in the Asian community. Growing up, I would see my friends parents driving really nice Lexus and Audi with Gucci shoes, buy their kids all the shiny toys and a big house meanwhile their kids have 0 college fund, theyre super behind on their mortgage and the fridge is always empty. And more than once our plans for the night were ruined by the power being cut off.

That is unfortunate - I had a very different (almost opposite) experience. My parents prioritized education. They would never spend money extravagantly on anything and the bills were always paid before buying anything unnecessary.

I completely relate to this from Jimmy O Yang: “the art is in the savings; never pay full price” 😅😂

Oh yeah my parents didn’t fall into that category either but more than a couple of my friends did and my mom definitely had to keep my Dad in line financially
