The book is Lake Wobegon Days (LWD). My dad and I used to listen to Prairie Home Companion when I was a kid and we still laugh about some of the skits and listen to old cassettes.

I found a copy of LWD a few months ago and my nostalgic heart vowed to read it. I pictured myself snuggled in bed with a hot tea laughing, reminiscing, and thinking about the days listening to Prairie Home Companion.

The problem is I hate reading fiction.

I have a stack of history books to read, but I keep picking up LWD hoping I’ll be in the mood but I never am. I feel like if I decide I won’t read it and give it away I’m somehow disrespecting my past, minimising the important memories with my Dad. I just wish the book resonated with me like I’d hoped it would.
