As someone that saw the sequel to Iraqi storm as a civilian I promise you this sentiment was not even kind of ahead of it’s time, it was a retread of Nam era rhetoric and has never lost its shine. Unfortunately they learned in the 70’s that telling us what we were doing abroad upseat us, far more than we would be by telling us about violent crime across the country 24/7, when news was made an entertainment.
I totally agree. Bojack Horseman as a show criticises the society so well. The way, society in the world of BH got that totally wrong, would most likely happen in this society, too. He never said ALL soldiers are holes but thats what everyone made of, they totally put that out of context.
