that line about giving an asshole a gun and telling him it’s ok to kill people doesn’t make him a hero was ahead of it’s time tbh

As someone that saw the sequel to Iraqi storm as a civilian I promise you this sentiment was not even kind of ahead of it’s time, it was a retread of Nam era rhetoric and has never lost its shine. Unfortunately they learned in the 70’s that telling us what we were doing abroad upseat us, far more than we would be by telling us about violent crime across the country 24/7, when news was made an entertainment.

I totally agree. Bojack Horseman as a show criticises the society so well. The way, society in the world of BH got that totally wrong, would most likely happen in this society, too. He never said ALL soldiers are holes but thats what everyone made of, they totally put that out of context.

I can’t remember! I’ll rewatch and will reply again.

But it’s a quote by PC, she’s on the phone, talking about how everyone in LA is from somewhere else, because it’s ok to leave a place you no longer want to be at. That’s why you’re “from” there. So she replies with “well, I’m about to be FROM this conversation”

I’m an immigrant in the US, it’s been 15 years, yet every single day someone asks me where am I from. That’s why I loved that quote so much.
