I feel like Mary and Angela’s discussion at the church after Mary’s fight with Brandon about money was so wholesome, and she was so sweet and reassuring to Mary in that moment. Telling her she’ll be a great mom it’ll just take time, and that she’s not alone. I’m sure it was a huge relief

I don’t think the actual advice was that important. It was that Brandan’s mom cared enough to go find Mary, and when she did, she listened and was supportive. I was impressed, for the first time, by Brandan’s mom, and also with Mary’s receptive response. A friendlier relationship between Mary and Brandan’s mom will be good for everyone

Definitely a step in the right direction. Support of extended family is so important.

I was surprised how maturely Mary took Angela’s advise. I didn’t expect that to be honest. Mary was able to verbalise her feelings without having her usual temper tantrum.

I have no doubt that when she was an addict, she was a monster! Most are.

To see that she rehabbed herself, is wonderful. The terrible lost years are gone.

Living in the here and now, stone cold sober, is a great gift to herself and loved ones; she needs to keep working hard to earn her family’s love and trust again.

    Good luck.

I thought it was very sweet. Mary looked like a little girl desperate for approval and guidance. I’m glad Brandon’s mom was able to support her!

You can tell the mom has been in therapy with her recovery. She seems to have absorbed a good deal & incorporated it into her life. I’m hoping she continues to be able to use this to stay sober & build healthy relationships.

Agreed! I was literally about to make the same post. As nasty as Mary has been to everyone, including Brandon’s mother, she’s probably going to be her best hope for influence on Brandon. I appreciate her sharing her struggles with addiction and that she came to Mary’s side when she easily could have been very cold to the situation. It was nice seeing Mary get that reaction from her.

My mother was an immigrant from the Philippines. She married an American my father. She knew no English n had no friends my grandmother wasn’t exceptant at all till us grandchildren were born . Seeing Brandons mother give advice an except Mary made me happy . I only hope that Mary puts aside her jealousy. That will ruin their relationship.

It would have been really good for all three of them if they would have lived in the same city, or at least country.
