You were a non-reader, preferring to watch movies and series rather than touch a book.

But then, someone recommends a novel they think you’ll like, you flip through it and love it!

In case it’s the first part of a trilogy or series, and you decide to read the whole series (or at least read all the parts you get your hands on and, in case you can’t get your hands on the last ones, you decide to look for spoilers on the internet).

That was my experience with Warriors by Erin Hunter.

What’s yours?

Lieutenant Hornblower. It was a family favorite series so I felt I had to read it but I chose it and it wasn’t forced on me. So happy I did read it, then I went on to read the other 11 books too. Great series but definitely start on lieutenant if you are interested.

I started with Mr Midshipman Hornblower. In terms of the order they were written in, Lieutenant is quite late. I think Forrester was trying to bridge gaps by then while never getting worked up about consistency. Weird the The Happy Return was the first.

Has to be the genre where the first contact spoiled me. Pope and O’Brian always seemd to not make the class of Forrester.
