Haven’t watched Sunday night’s ep yet, but I’m a little surprised by how many peeps are framing Danielle as the victim. Her Dominican friends told her what it was, she still chose to ignore it + move to DR knowing that’s not what Yohan wanted and that she had no jobs lined up. She’s complaining about having to pay for everything, yet if he moved to NYC she would have had no choice but to do so anyway bc he can’t find on the books work without a visa.

So tired of hearing her complain about a situation she fully opted into even knowing the context. For someone with Latina friends, she seems willfully ignorant about the culture when all the signs were there to begin with. Yohan got tired of her shit and left, maybe not the best exit but did she really think the relationship would actually work out? How are people empathizing with her?

Yeah, it was always a transactional relationship which was the only reason she got away with treating him so poorly. He thought he would be rewarded because she had essentially sold him that. Now he is done.

Also she could have let him pack his clothes and leave. Instead she starts trying to claw back her power by being like you can’t take any clothing I bought you. And tit for tat, I guess he bought the dog so he uses same logic.

She has been controlling and deceptive this whole time. I don’t feel bad for her.

I agree, a lot of people said they felt bad for Danielle(?). But iykyk cause yeah Yohan can get and give lazy vibes but their wants and needs have never aligned and/or ‘equally yolked’. It’s seemed to be mainly physical while Danielle thinks she’s has the upper hand the whole time and Yohan finally called her bluff. If I recall, she had a lot of debt in New York City and left thinking life would be a vacation… Danielle is busy telling everyone about themselves so she never has to focus on looking at herself bc she’s had her own motives and ideals that she was expecting Yohan to conform to rather than give him the choice, she assumed he would walk to her rhythm I guess cause she was “the American woman with money” 🌚

I don’t feel bad for Danielle. Not one bit. She thought she was so smart and could control him. Her manipulations stopped working.

Remember she moved to the D R to avoid approximately 30,000 in debt. She unilaterally changed all the plans they made together and he tried to go along with it the best he could for as long as he could. To me she seems to be very controlling and extremely manipulate.
