    Ironic that the “moon and star” motif is probably derived from the stunning sight of the crescent Moon and brilliant Venus. Mistakenly called the “Morning star” or “Evening star,” it ain’t a star at all.

    Star and crescent is associated with Islam. Turkey got it started but they don’t really own it.

      Green is also the color of islam, so the red is a significance since turkey is an outlier with that color scheme

    It’s really just a star and crescent which is a symbol for islam as a whole. (And used by turkey in their flag)
