Quite honestly I can’t stand only a few books that I’ve read, recently The Awakening by Nora Roberts.
Holy crap, do I reallllyyyyy want my money back. I was bored. So. Bored. The magic system was subpar, the characters just….ew, everything was so, so boring. The MC is an idiot.

Imagine a huge ayn rand fanboy, have him write a super generic fantasy, wizards, dragons, evil king.
Add lots of repressed sexual stuff, like an order of dominatrixes who kidnap and torture the hero but later become super submissive to him.
Give him a monstrous ego and a disdain for fantasy - “i dont write fantasy i write books with important human themes”
Then have him write 10 more books about his favorite boy, add some weird evil communists who hate football, add a tribe of evil pacifists who the favorite boy murders for being pacifist, a book where the youre expected to takw an evil chicken as a legitimate threat in a straight fight, and youve read his books.

I once mistook a Terry Goodkind book for a Terry Pratchett book. I was utterly confused for about 30 pages, until I realised my mistake (and went to swap it the next day). Never read anymore Goodkind.
He was also blatantly ripping off Robert Jordan
Version one of my synopsis was a more sexually repressed robert jordan with an ayn rand fixation lol
