Quite honestly I can’t stand only a few books that I’ve read, recently The Awakening by Nora Roberts.

Holy crap, do I reallllyyyyy want my money back. I was bored. So. Bored. The magic system was subpar, the characters just….ew, everything was so, so boring. The MC is an idiot.

What book is a zero star read for you?

I haven’t encountered this much, but for me Twilight fits the bill. It feels bad to say it because it’s fantastic that so many people loved these books and maybe some of them got into reading if they weren’t before. But for my part I was shocked how poorly written the first book was. It may have been my first time encountering truly bad writing. So devoid of any style or literary elements that I had loved. I don’t know if I’m wording this right. Like no beauty or poetry in the prose. “I got up and brushed my hair and went downstairs and made a sandwich for my dad. I didn’t make one for myself because I was not hungry.”

I read Twilight only to be able to tell people it sucked when they came back with, “But have you read the books?”

I just want someone to tell Stephanie Meyer what a thesaurus is so she can look at synonyms.

And I may be remembering this incorrectly, but did Bella even have a description? All I recall was her mentioning she had long, dark hair. No facial features except looking like her mother. It honestly makes sense and why I think the books sold like crazy; any girl could read such a faceless character and put themselves on her.
