They realized that when people see what they want, they stop watching or unsubscribe, so they slow the well of content down to keep you engaged longer. If they don’t release the last 4 episodes until early next year, then people will hang on the 4 episodes they get for a lot longer, possibly rewatching them multiple times.
Covid and various production delays prevented them from getting the entire season out when they wanted so the decided to release it in two parts so fans wouldn’t have to wait as long for new episodes.

Weekly is one thing, but an eight episode season into two parts?
They must have some tax reason to do it this way. I would have much rather had them all in Early 2024 instead of taking a month off
