I have seen so many posts of people shitting on popular books so I need to hear some of your favourite ones.
For me I believe that the A Good Girls Guide To Murder series is amazing and deserves all the love in the world
It has a incredible plot with so many fun and well written characters that I found quite relatable, the entire series is just fantastic and is one of my all time favourite mystery series
Dresden would be more forgivable if fans did not constantly say there are no issues. Most series have issues. The fact that fans claim all issues are fixed after book 4 is wrong. The most honest answer is Dresden is Dresden if he bugs you bail. If the writing bugs you it does get a bit better.
Weird none of the people I know who like Dresden think there are no issues. We’ve got a running inside joke that Harry would suddenly stop in the middle of a big bad fight to explain how his magic interferes with electricity and his car an old blue Volkswagen known as the blue beetle. Full agreement that Dresden is a Mary Sue author insert (with the usually accompaniment of undue attention from any woman he encounters) and that the big climax felt less climactic than most of the individual books.
It’s just really fun (from when the writing becomes bearable) despite the many issues.
