Why did they want to conquer Earth but not the Thraxans? Omniman says they’re gonna kill everyone on the planet

So Mark has been getting destroyed because he’s holding back and the moment he stops he’s able to take out that female Viltrumite. But when he was greeting wrecked by Omniman or Battle Beast he was still holding back? All it took was for mark to try to kill that lady and she got destroyed, instantly.

    This is why “they’re as strong as they need to be for the plot” just doesn’t work, because it creates big inconsistencies as these. Mark should’ve not been able to borderline beat Thula, someone as old an skillful as Nolan. That’s actually why I thought they rejuvinated that random viltrumite, so it’s more believable he doesn’t get pummeled by him, but now it’s worse lmao

      I dont think its that bad. I havent read the comic but it seems to me Nolan is exceptional for a Viltrumite. Mark being so powerful as his son isnt that much of a stretch to me.

      Also, I dont think he was anywhere close to beating Thula. I interpreted it as, he put up a fight, but she mostly kicks his ass outside of catching him off guard; he does get her in a position to kill her, but I dont think that means he was physically capable of doing so. I think she was playing up her helplessness because she can tell now hes gonna hold back

        Nolan’s pretty strong, but there are various viltrumites that outscale him, it’s even said in the comic that the reason they have a chance of winning it’s because they won’t be sending their most powerful soldiers.

        Also, the way the scene is set up makes pretty clear had Mark not hesitated he would’ve won

          Lot of things have changed and Kirkman himself said this is more of a 2nd draft at it. Its really not that unbelievable or inconsistent as youre making it out to be
