I’m going to keep it short and precise. Invincible does not have good animation, this can’t even be debated its downright terrible. I would go as far as to say its near unwatchable, I finally chose to stop being lazy and with that i have watch ALL of Season 1, the Eve special and all of the current episode of season 2. I can separate this in 2 major point.
Cheap Animation
Looking behind the studio its clear they chose to spend their 10M+ budget per episode on, and its clearly not animation. Being produce by basically cheap nobody’s its clear that the focus was on the voice cast [basically a bunch of celebrity snob with no real voice acting skills or a bunch of friends]
I mean you got to understand we are currently in the best era of animation, i could name the animator by name but that would be a waste of time. But the French, Korea and Japanese all have some of the best animated show both present and past. Ignoring the production problems, JJK, BNHA, BC and MANY MANY MANY other animated show. Are all producing top content i mean we are talking about about some of the BEST animated show and episode in the HISTORY of animation.
For example go watch the Omni-Man vs Invincible fight, and let compare it to the latest fight in JJK Sukuna vs Mahoraga. Its a night and day comparison, one has several known animator working on the project with multiple distinguish style to enhance the fight and take liberty to add more that not just
" slow motion gore ".
What make it worst is the fact that the lack of any real emotion to the character face rendering some of the " voice acting " and I’m using that term loosely here, Completely flat. This make the experience less enjoyable than it should be. You could honestly keep the crappy voice acting and just fix the animation and the show would go from a 4/10 to a easy 6/10 hell i’d go as far as give it a 8/10.
Celebrity Casting
Ok we can cut the Bull here we all know all the money is going to the Celebrity VA pockets. It does not take 2 braincell to figure that out, i’m willing to bet nearly half of them are friends or have ties to each other allowing them to get the gig.
I like mark VA, dare i say he the only one who sound right in the show and don’t seem like they are just " reading lines ". This is made worst by the fact some of the worst voice actor have major roles for the future of the book’s. I mean do we really want to have Seth voice Allen during the viltrumite war.

Your complaints are all 100 percent valid. Though, I wonder if some of the acting is due to scheduling/unfinished scripts or something. This season JK Simmons often sounds like he’s delivering his lines in a completely different context than how they’re presented. Other times it just sounds like the VA has been poorly mixed.
It’s a bizarrely low quality production considering how popular it is and that the original creator has basically complete control over everything.
hahah bad voice acting that’s a good one man, but generally you don’t spoil the trolling right in the title, you save that for at least the end of the first paragraph

Animation - Agreed. Except the fight scenes in destroying the planet episode, S1E5 and E8 definitely delivered. In S2 unfortunately it hasn’t.
Voice acting - I have to completely disagree. The only voice acting I disliked was Ezra Miller and Rexsplode.
Seeing s2 animation quality has somewhat, gets me kind of worried for what’s coming in the later seasons. The voice acting isn’t really hitting as well. Hopefully that can change with season 3 bc if not, man idk
I started watching the show not for the animation, but overall story and humor

It is of course no where near Japanese animation. But to me it holds up quite fine next to Simpsons, Family Guy, Archer, and similar shows I think
Sure it is like those other shows, but invincible is an action animation so it does need better animation than those shows which aren’t
You could tell they’re running out of a budget when they just blatantly frame by frame montaged the fight at the end there and the comic readers just ate it up, definitely felt incredibly lazy and made the fight way shorter.
The animation sucks yeah, but the voice acting is great, i just dislike when they swear without a reason a lot, sometimes it just seems out of place
same here . f bombing was cool in the 90’s because it made parents blush but nowadays it can come off as boring or lazy since everyone does it .

I never really noticed an issue with the animation until this most recent episode. The animation was noticeably bad in this episode, at least in the first half. It did seem to improve in the second half of the episode. But in the first half you could tell that it was very poorly done. Most things in the background weren’t even moving and the movements of all the characters were very jerky.
Yeah, this episode has to have been rushed. Animation was noticeably lacking, and J.K. Simmons and Steven Yuen were very wooden, Simmons especially. He sounded like a Skyrim NPC.
Apparently they aren’t even done making season 2 yet. I was assuming that since they finally released season 2 that it was done and finished and Amazon was just doing a weekly release because they are assholes that don’t realize that everyone has Amazon Prime for free shipping, not for their streaming service.
But it sounds like we wont even see any new episodes until early next year now. So this episode may well have been rushed. The animation seemed fine in the second half of the episode it was just very noticeably bad in the first half.
It was an awkward situation, and they were very purposefully awkward
THANK YOU at least you got the balls to admit the shit stink, now all you got to do is watch a tv show with actual animation and you will see why i say their animation suck.
