He’s what? 18? Basically nothing in viltrumite timeframe.

Literally gets dominated by Lucan using one finger.

Then he gets his ass beat by Thula, who has hundreds of years of experience minimum, mind you viltrumites get stronger with age, aaand somehow a pep talk allows him to almost kill her? What? Mind you, in the comics this Thula threw down with Battle Beast and walked away alive

He was buffed in the show.

Imo it works better for progression if he barely kept up and was bailed out by his dad last second like in the comic. Really makes the fight feel desperate and brutal.

Okay but I wouldn’t trade anything for the moment where he switched things up and his theme started playing. I think the comics readers have a bit of an issue since the battle went different there but I really don’t mind mark being a bit more powerful

power scaling is dumb. Imo it wasnt that much of a game changer when it comes to enjoying the show

Tell me, how serious was Thula in the fight? At what point did she legitimately try to kill Mark and how much of an advantage did he have after that point?

They were initially testing Mark, they don’t seem to mind risking their lives so it seems to me you cant look at this fight, seperate the feats and determine powerlevels from it.

Despite what Thula said she was playing with Mark which allowed him to fight on par a little, but she was still kicking his ass! Nolan was also jumping in every chance he got and if your a comic reader you’d know Nolan is a top 5 Viltrumite at this point. Nolan used mark as a distraction if anything so he could fight 1v1. >! A viltrumite weakness is overconfidence and cockiness, trust me it bites them in the arse more than once !<

Mark was holding back tho? That what the pep talk is for. He’s used to having to hold back to not break buildings or hurt people. So for once he got to use his full strength and it definitely caught the girl off guard.

Invincible strength levels have always been a little iffy (this can apply to comics in general). I see it as Mark being enraged and not holding back makes him stronger. I think there could also be a Goku effect.

Also, this is a spoiler, but >!I think someone mentioned before that human-viltrumite hybrids can actually be stronger than pure viltrumites!<

That would be because Mark is THE viltrumite with more potential that ever has been (he literally gets stronger by the minute, and his fight with Nolan also made him 10 times stronger), due to his genetic makeup, and because viltrumites lack adrenaline, they literally don’t have it, while Mark does, so he can get a little power up once his adrenaline kicks in.

This is no different than Kratos, Goku, and Superman being able to massively hold back their power to absurdly low levels.

Invincible is one of the better shows with power scaling related to super (boys is another) but they both still fuck up a lot.

Which makes me think that Viltrumite and Human hybrids are stronger, like Saiyan and Human descendants

It’s a wake up moment for mark. The fight shows mark his weak moments. He’s holding back all the time because he’s trying not to kill people but this is one of many fights for his life. This time he had training wheels (his dad) but next time… you’ll just have to see. Mark learns several times that holding back makes enemies stronger.
