Hello everyone on this awesome subreddit! Wondering about reading habits…I’ve always been a 20 minutes before bed kinda person but I’d like to read more and be more spontaneous with my reading. Do you read a certain amount of pages or time per day? Or just read whenever and how ever much you want? Maybe a certain time of day? Basically I guess Explain to me your daily reading habits or routine ! If you feel like it I mean.

Any answers appreciated! Thank you so much!!

I usually take whatever I’m reading to wherever I’m going, and my Kindle makes it easy to read in waiting rooms, in parking lots, or wherever I figure I’ll have at least a few minutes. I read at bedtime for probably 30 minutes at least. I have no morning obligation and read till I start to doze or not remember what I just read. And sometimes that means reading till 2 am because I need to know what happens next.

I was that weird kid who had to read all the time, including in the bathroom. It hadn’t occurred to me yet to take a book in there, so I would read the writing on the tissue box, the toilet paper package, the toothpaste tube…I think it might be inherited. My mom grew up in a one-bathroom home, and my grandfather used to stand in the bathroom doorway with the newspaper and call out, “If you need it, you better get to it, because I’m going in.” And he would be in there with that paper for what seemed like half the day.
