What book have you read that wasn’t subjectively “bad” but you regrets reading all the same?
For me, Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. The book was engaging and it kept me on my toes, but I just with I hadn’t “poisoned my head” with all the graphic gore that was in there. I years later i still think about this and how I really wish I had never read it.
Question inspired by a comment /u/PrincessOfWales made in another thread :)
Wellness by Nathan Hill. A friend suggested it because a lot of it takes place where we hung out as kids. I hated the book but couldn’t stop reading it. I think I was waiting for the story to justify wasting so much of my time. In the end, it was a boring story told in a moderately creative way. Wish I had the time back now.
Returning that copy to the library without opening it now…
for another perspective, i just read this and absolutely loved it.
Something to think about. I might read a few pages.
