In season 2 episode 4 we quite clearly see mark beat Thula.

In the comics mark does hold his own against the viltrumite he’s fighting as he was fighting for hours. It was still clear that he was loosing but it wasn’t an insane power gap like the omniman fight.I like the idea that mark is actually really strong and he’s just been holding back which makes sense since Oliver in one punch killed a mauler. It’s like superman and how he instinctively holds back so he doesn’t kill people.

My problem comes from the fact that mark was able to some what easily beat Thula instead of holding his own and loosing.Because now mark shouldn’t really struggle once he learns to control his strength. Also it really cheapens the fact that we don’t see mark train to viltrumite level but is already past average viltrumite level.I know he trains in the show post omniman but we don’t really see it nor is it really brought up.

From a show viewers perspective this probably isn’t a problem but as a comic reader I feel like it make the viltrumites not that scary anymore since mark will soon be able to destroy them. What are you thoughts?

Yeah, I don’t see the problem.

He was trained by Omniman himself, that was the first hint marks path to power was different

And he’s still a low tier viltrumite at this point, only beating Thula, and not even actually doing much cosmetic damage to her.

Lucan put him down with just a finger. The viltrumites are still a big scary threat.

Thula isn’t really treated as a top tier viltrumite in the book either.

And like you said even in the book, depsite never training a day in life, he fought that viltrumite for a long time. He was capable of injuring him.

It only makes sense that a mark that’s been training over a year most of that year being with his father, would be beyond average viltrumite level or I guess really just the average.

      Yeah! I also don’t see a problem

I found odd how many people kinda forgot that this version of Mark trained with Nolan for months before the S1 finale, leaving him more prepared than his comic counterpart who didn’t even know he had to exercise to get stronger (in comparison to the show where we see Nolan mention this to Mark while flying over the desert)
