Animorphs- I had a childhood with pretty terrible circumstances at a few points and these kids had it way worse yet still managed to be brave, and lean on each other as much as they could. And sometimes things still wind up pretty shit, even when you try really hard, but you fought your damnedest and gave it your all and when you do that, fuck it. You gave it everything you had and you can own it.

After that, Xanth by Piers Anthony. It was/is stupid and silly and weirdly thirsty but in a way that didn’t take itself seriously. It was a good-natured ribbing of the early sword and sorcery genre and I ate that shit up.
