I LOVED the Anne McCaffrey Pern books. I would walk around daydreaming about new adventures set in the books’ world. The Dragonsong books really connected my love of music with my love of fantasy (and animals).

    Probably either Watership Down or White Fang. Also loved: Hatchet and The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle.

      Oh yes, Watership Down I forgot about, loved that too. My (much older) brother had it and I was not allowed to touch his books and he checked if they had moved. I looked carefully how he placed a book, then read in it and placed it back exactly like they were. I don’t think he ever found out. One day I got sick and I made a run for the bathroom while I tried to keep it all in my mouth. This backfired and I squirted right through my fingers all over his books. He didn’t like it one bit. I ended up in bed while he tried to clean his books, looking at me as if he wanted to kill me. He would have if it wasn’t illegal.
