I’ve been wondering this for a few days now, if those two reporters never investigated the Sarah Lynn story, what would have happened with Bojack’s life? Would he have lived life never being held accountable? Would he still be a professor at Wesleyan? Would Diane and Hollyhock be in his life still? I’m super curious to hear other people’s viewpoints :)
So, I had an idea for a season 7 involving Gina reversing her decision to keep the choking incident a secret a few years after Bojack got out of prison and rehabilitated for real. Bojack is suddenly thrown into controversy again, and Gina is conveniently leaving out of the discussion that Bojack wanted to come clean immediately but she stopped him. Sadness ensues.
I think that if Paige and Max hadn’t gone after Bojack Horseman, there is a real possibility of Gina going after him.
Yea iirc Gina stopped him from coming clean because she wasn’t a big enough star yet to stand on her own two feet if she did go public with it. She’s getting there though so it’s entirely possible that she’d consider doing it if she became big enough but ran into a block which prevented her from going further due to what happened with Bojack.
Would Diane and Hollyhock be in his life still?
i don’t know about the other questions you asked, but these two i think would still have left his life, since their primary motivators for leaving him revolved around penny. not that the sarah lynn story didn’t play a part (particularly for diane), but i don’t think that not coming to the surface would have changed the end for these two characters in particular.
I think he’d have slept with one of his students at Wesleyan and gotten fired
I think whatever the answer is, there wouldn’t be a happy ending for him. I feel like he would have fallen into drugs and mistakes again and would die similar to Sarah Lynn because of an OD. I think that’s the point of the show, that there is no Happy End because real life is not a always good ending tv show.
