We always know our favorite books but what about book characters?

For some reason, even after years after finishing the series, I still remember Rose Hathaway from The Vampire Academy. I most definitely have outgrown the series but I still love her spunk and humor. Mead’s development of the character was just so beautifully done.

Also, Jamie Fraser… because, I mean, who wouldn’t? 😮‍💨

    This feels like cheating because it’s auto fiction but Knausgaard writing himself is my favorite “character” because he is so relatable. I love the way he expresses shame as a fundamental emotion, and he doesn’t hold punches.

    For more fictional characters, I love Lee from East of Eden, Mario Incandenza, and Baudolino (what a hoot!).

    As a kid, I loved Matt from Wheel of Time (who didn’t?).

    Edit: Artemio Cruz is another good one.
