I’ve been following Ashley and Manuel’s journey on the show, and I can’t shake off the concerns I have. Manuel’s secretive nature and reluctance to share much about his personal life, coupled with his expectation for Ashley to financially support his family, have me seriously worried. Manuel’s habit of frequently running off on Ashley is sending up some major red flags. It’s got me thinking that Ashley might be better off cutting her losses sooner rather than later.

    She signed an affidavit of support. By law, he cannot work until he gets the green card, in about 2 years. He has 3 kids, that’s all anybody needs to know to understand that he has to pay child support. The only way she could marry her is if she supports him for a time, I don’t think he is unreasonable. It’s just the way it is

      Exactly. That’s the entire reason why they make sure the American person makes a certain amount of money. They agree to support this person until the green card comes which seems to take at minimum a year. I doubt he enjoys having to rely on her for financial support. It appears that he worked quite hard in Ecuador to support his family.
