mark was getting clobbered by fucking maulers 3 episodes ago now he’s able to beat a full grown soldier viltrumite that’s been conquering worlds for millennia just because he “stopped holding back”. Even Nolan who got hospitalized by the guardians while soloing them, only suffered a cut on his head fighting THREE viltrumites!!! Just makes them look weak in comparison. I feel like they shouldn’t even have any chance winning that battle at all, not alone surviving in better condition than against way weaker foes
I understand Mark was holding back against the Maulers, but my question is, why did Mark hold back so much that he was getting literally killed? Does he not have enough restraint to throw them off while not killing them? “Holding back” can’t explain everything.
Exactly what I’m tryna explain to 90% of the dumb fucks in this comment, how’s he holding back at the same time struggling for his life in a pool of his own blood, doesn’t add up at all

People need to understand the Maulers are not jobbers. The Maulers have super strength. Not on the level Viltrumites do, but we see them saying that bullets tickle them and we see them doing Hulk style leaps in S1. 1 on 1 Mark would have no issue taking down a Mauler brother, but their punches are still going to connect. It’s not like Mark would just take a punch from them and not feel anything. And he’s getting jumped by like 9 Maulers. They are going to be able to land punches and do damage
People also need to understand Mark was not near death in that fight. Mark is going to take beatings way worse than that in this series and walk them off the same way he did the Maulers. Mark getting the shit kicked out of him /=/ Mark nearly dying. Just like you could take a few punches and get a black eye and broken nose but you wouldn’t say “I almost got beat to death”
