1. The reason people aren’t really trying is because you’ve been kind of an angry mean snarky raging asshole when someone has disagreed with you. Even here you started your comment with a backhanded comment that comes off as saying how you’re pleasantly surprised that I’m not as stupid as everyone else.

2. I’m not entirely sure how to fully respond to the toilet paper point, there are a bunch of reasons it doesn’t really make sense

a) That hasn’t happened in the show, it probably will in some capacity but it’s not really fair to bring up considering how stuff has already been changed, moved around and recontextualized

b) Toilet paper and just about anything can kill you if it hits you hard enough and transfers enough energy. But that’s moot because saying the Maulers ARE actually toilet paper to Mark is just completely wrong and nonsensical. Saying something tore through something else like it was toilet paper is an expression to say that it went right through without obvious resistance. You can say a .50bmg full metal jacket bullet tears through concrete like wet toilet paper but if you smack the side of that same bullet with a heavy mass of concrete repeatedly chances are you’re going bend, deform and damage it without tearing up the concrete. Oliver flys at a high speed through one Mauler’s torso and uppercuts the other. Both are bullet like attacks to parts of the body that are relatively weaker and they go through. But the Maulers are still giant super strong slabs of meat and smashing their heavy fists and feet (which can take more punishment than their heads/torso) into something is still going to transfer a lot of energy, even if that thing is stronger. If you do that over and over that thing is going to take increasing amounts of damage. Getting punched once in the shoulder won’t do too much, getting punched 50 times in quick succession will

c) Oliver develops way faster at first so while we know that when he killed the Maulers that he was weaker than comic Mark at that point, we don’t actually know how SHOW Mark’s strength during the beat down exactly compares to that. It’s entirely possible that comic Oliver was stronger than Mark was at that point.

3. Watch the scene again, you can see that initially while Mark does take some hits, he’s still able to fight back. It’s not until he takes several solid and hard blows at once that he is briefly dazed and knocked off balance, but before he can collect himself the Maulers push their advantage and keep hitting him and knock him to the ground. Despite what he’s gone through, Mark is still pretty new to fighting and has yet to get fully acclimated to the pain of getting hit. Getting punched really sucks. That pain can and probably will take you out of the moment if you’re not careful, especially if you’re new like Mark. The Maulers take advantage of this and start pummelling him preventing him from even processing the last hit. Pain is also exhausting so by the time Mark has fully processed what is happening to him he’s not able to think clearly enough to muster the will and strength to push back and he’s still getting hit, further exhausting and dazing him. They weren’t really holding him down in the way you make it seem, they didn’t out strength exactly, they weakened him and then didn’t let him recover enough to resist.

I’m not actually interested in debating this further, the show is what it is and there are problems that I hope get addressed as it continues. I just wanted to leave my takes on why it still mostly makes sense to me and refute your reply to me
