I mean. He’s not evil… just a little bit dumb. He’s super silly and well. The most “in his animal” character. Mr peanutbutter is a good boy. He Always stayed loyal to bojack. I love his friendship with Todd. He’s super funny. I know he did bad things and all but i just cant Hate him.

My favorite line from Diane, that while said about Hank Hippopolis, I believe was meant for Mr. Peanutbutter is: Because they are such a nice person, people don’t want to think they are capable of terrible things.

PB embodies this line to a fault. He’s charismatic, happy, and nice! Now let’s list a small sample of how he’s a giant PoS.

1- he refuses to acknowledge or respect other peoples boundaries. Episode 1 they introduced him by having PB interup a breakup and make it all about him. He demanded a line as Checkers for BJ’s movie. He constantly interrupts conversations to get the focus on him.

2 - he’s an idea thief. Exemplified by when HE stole Disney world from Todd. The D for Diane. And of course Mr. Pb’s house.

    1. He’s NOT ACTUALLY LOYAL, and when he is, he is loyal to sexual predators and displays a predilection to predatory behaviors himself. He wanted Diane to shut up about Hank because it would tank HIS TV show. He stole Todd’s theme park. He cheated on pickles. He saw Bojack strangle Gina and cared more about him then her. These are not the behaviors of someone who is loyal to the right people. Also, he refuses to date women his age preferring maliable 20 year olds.

PB is a VERY likeable character. Hell, I like him. But what I like most about his character is that it shows how easy it is for a man like that to never be judged or face the consequences of his actions. The only indication we get about how insufferable PB truly is, is from his Ex wives who can’t stand him. But of course, why would we listen to bitter Katrina or eccentric Jessica Biel, when Nice, Happy, PB is there!

Nailed it. People that are charismatic can often get people to overlook those things because typically they tend to swing good more then bad.

I see it at work all the time

Emp a does something but isn’t as well liked, gets punished

Emp B does same thing, but gets a warning.

I agreed with you until you said this. This makes PB sound like a straw man for men in general. He may spend the entire show not being judged by the people around him, but the show’s audience has leveled pretty much every conceivable criticism of him by now.

Just because we as an audience criticise him doesn’t mean there’s any consequences of his actions, that’s kinda the point.

Also, I might just look the wrong places, but I rarely see anyone having any issues with PB and the people that hate Diane because of misogynistic reasons are typically PB fans.
