so I was completely SHOCKED when i saw her family! they are so incredibly sweet and loud and welcoming, the complete opposite of what devin has been showing us. do you think it’s possible that devin was just shy in korea because she isn’t comfortable there? maybe she will become more comfortable when she is home with her family? thoughts?!?! they are such a sweet couple

Pretty crazy tbh, sooo many comments on these threads saying he’s just messing around it’s not about her weight, but then he goes and does that… lol.
I mean he mentioned in the first episode where they were introduced that he liked her because she had more meat on her bones and was more athletic compared to the Korean women he had been around/knew. So I would think the piggy nickname is related to her weight based on that.
I feel like there’s other nicknames than piggy for being athletic

Koreans DO think Americans are fat, they prize smallness, smallness of face even–they are very critical of looks, I live in a Koreatown and have come to know this over many years.
Not just a Korean thing. That seems to be the consensus worldwide.
