I feel sorry for Kimberly. I don’t know what delusion she had about what her life in India would look like but she doesn’t deserve to be treated so poorly by her husband here. I get that it’s likely (unfortunately) cultural for TJ to act this way and expect certain things from his wife, but he ain’t married to an Indian woman.
It made me think as well, hats off to Jenny for actually going out and about and in the community and shopping and engaging with others. Actually making an effort, as scary as it must of been for her. She never (to me recollection) shut herself in.
I think Kim is going through so much, leaving her country, her friends and family, that she probably is in a depression. Thats alot for anyone, which the people on this show should show more of. TJ needs to be more affectionate and validate her feelings, he seems to get frustrated quick and becomes defensive. But kim, giirrrrrl! You gotta tuck that crazy in! Get on some meds and try to focus on making memories as a newlyweds.
She did VERY early on but it was more of a blip in her story than an arc if that makes sense? I think it was valid too since she shared she did not know the language or how to shop but it seems she definitely had the agency to figure it out.
