But unless the twins can’t tell left from right the lone should immediately know he’s the clone the moment he wakes up.

The mind transfer is 1 to 1, so he should know which side of the machine the clone was.

Besides that he should have the Neo “Why do my eyes hurt?” feeling.

Right? Or am I crazy?

    It’s part of the process. They don’t remember which side they laid down on. The mind transfer erases those memories.
