If we’re wishlisting guest hosts who are former correspondents, what about Larry Wilmore? And Jessica Williams?
I presume that Wilmore and Klepper, both having had shows cancelled on CC, have that in the negative column for permanent hosts. I was hoping for Roy or Hasan, but I thought Klepper did a fine job when he solo’d. He seemed to shed some of his correspondent persona a bit.

Charlamagne also had a cancelled show on CC, so why is being brought back for a second round? I am not going to look it up, but I would guess his show performed worse than both TNS and TO.

Yeah, I’m not sure whether he’s in the serious running for permanent host, is he? He probably brings some viewers to the show who aren’t regulars, given his radio reach.
How can he do both? If he is selected, maybe he can manage it for a short time, but how would anyone think he can keep that many balls in the air for at least the seven years Noah was in the chair?
If a current or former correspondent isn’t chosen, I am not sure I am going to stick around. I’d make an exception for Silverman.
It’s an obvious slap in the face to any current correspondent if CC decides to fill the seat from outside the house, and I’d expect all of them to leave TDS within 18 months if that happens.

I enjoyed the Nightly show! Larry would be a fun host.
I loved the Dennis Rodman clips!
Also, the “Nightly” entertainment skits were good with Grace Parra (the “clueless” correspondent).
Hasan Piker?
Hasan Minaj

I second Jessica Williams. I remember hoping she or Hasan would take over after Jon Stewart left.
I’m okay with her guest hosting, but if they take her away from Shrinking, I’m going to have to start doing some breathing exercises.
Eh, Shrinking was okay. She’s better on the Daily Show
