when bojack got assigned as the professor, we see he is trying to have a good relationship with hollyhock (obvioudly he should give her-’ her 'space but then she just disregards him and it feels very rude to me )

Nobody is obligated to explain themselves if they want to distance themselves, especially not to people you think are creepy/could potentially hurt you. Yes it’s rude, sometimes you need to be rude to get the point across.
Noone, noone is obligated to give bojack any chance or explanation and hollyhock does not need to overlook everything she found out just because bojack is family.
I agree and on top of that, Hollyhock had also her own issues to take care of.
Body Image for example, she was uncomfortable with her weight and Beatrice drugged her to make her lose weight.
Trust issues (after Bojack deliberately tried to buy drugs while she was around, even knowing that he needs it for his pain, the methods he used were all illegal to say the least. And the way Bojack had Hollyhock to sneak into Gina’s house.)
Hollyhock was bound to distance herself from Bojack, it was good for her that she did!
