I think that’s kinda the point of their relationship, though. Diane is clearly set up to be the romantic interest and has lots of things in common with Diane - but they never get together, not even once; because this show is all about breaking tropes.
Ngl, when I first watched the ending, I somehow missed Mr. Blue playing in the background and fully expected Diane to kiss Bojack as an act of self-sabotage, because this is sad horse show and we can’t have nice things.
They even have them fidgeting a bit at the end, so that it looked like Diane moved slightly closer.
